"Katherine has championed CIMS on every level. From serving on the CIMS committee to volunteering her mediation services, Katherine is a true leader and constant source of inspiration."
- Tracy Cox, CIMS Coordinator
"I’ve been fortunate to practice law in Tennessee since 2004. In my experience, it’s always preferable for parties, particularly parties who share children, to resolve their issues outside of the courtroom when possible. Pro bono and/or reduced fee legal services such as the mediations provided by CIMS are critical in helping parties and parents navigate and resolve their disputes, promoting compliance with agreements and court orders, and reducing the stress of legal conflicts on parties and families. Pro bono work is an integral part of Tennessee’s legal culture. CIMS is critical in providing access to our legal system for people who cannot afford legal fees. The individuals seeking help via CIMS want and need our help, and it only benefits children, families, litigants, our profession and our legal system to provide access to justice and a pathway to compromise."
